Eyes on Jesus
We write this entry with gratitude.  As most of Pathway Baptist Church already knows Ruthanne and I with our sons, Nate and Zeke, are moving to Minneapolis.  Ruthanne beginning a teaching role as professor of philosophy at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
As is right and fitting our gratitude first and foremost is for Jesus Christ’s lordship of our lives.  We are grateful to have served our savior as youth pastor at Pathway Baptist these past eight years.  We know that God brought us together and with the body of Christ at Pathway to make His name famous.  I trust that as God has used us to cultivate in this generation hearts that are alive to Christ.  With us and with all of us involved in the youth ministry at Pathway, I have faith that Jesus will continue to work His will and His way.
We are grateful to the members of Pathway having entrusted us to lead the youth over these past years.  I believe that God will continue to empower His people to accomplish His work as they continue to seek His heart.  We have made dear friends at Pathway and will be heart-warmed to hear that Christ continues to empower you to call others to faith and Christian maturity.
We are grateful, not the least, to the youth of Pathway.  I pray that you will long to see a fresh movement of God in your generation.  Keep your eyes on Jesus.

I close with the verses below as a fitting benediction:

Hebrews 11: 39 – 12:2a   39)   All of these people we have mentioned received God's approval because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.  40) For God had far better things in mind for us that would also benefit them, for they can't receive the prize at the end of the race until we finish the race.  1) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.  2) We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. (NLT)

I can say that it has been such a blessing to have you as our youth pastor. I know that God put you here for a reason and that he has even bigger plans for you in Minnesota. We will all miss you, and we all love you.
